Home owners account; Yet another show of lack of services
For two years I couldn’t get a water/electricity/tax bill from the city of Johannesburg. Water and electricity are socialist enterprises here. I didn’t have an account number, nor did I know how much to pay. I tried calling the bureaucrats, but no help there: they said [...]

What will these stupid Black Economic Empowerment morons do while the phone lines are down? I suppose they will sit around doing nothing. The inordinately high salaries that government officials receive for doing virtually nothing [...]

Rocky street in Yeoville Johannesburg looks more like a typical South African squatter camp than a residential suburb. Possibly Johannesburg does not have a council anymore for if they do, management mentality and common sense if non existent.
Yeoville’s streets turned into a slum of disease and violent crime.
Below are some more disturbing pictures of [...]

The city of gold – Johannesburg – was at a couple years ago regarded as the jewel amongst all other African cities. Reasonably well maintained and supported by the surrounding infrastructure.
Since the birth of black empowerment laws – thanks to the ANC (Mandela’s political party) – a once proud city has been reduced to a [...]

Gunfire echoed down Church Street in front of the Reserve Bank as police and a fugitive exchanged fire in an intense gun battle that sent hundreds of panic-stricken bystanders diving for cover.
