Medical system upgrade

A total of 120 traditional healers graduated from the Abelaphi Bendabuko Institute of Traditional Practice at the weekend.

The institute’s CEO, Professor Lawrence Dlamini, said graduates were delighted to be honoured at the event and the hall was packed to capacity.

‘Traditional health healers who have successfully completed numerous extensive training practices, like nursery development for plant propagation, conservation of nature and HIV/Aids management, graduated,’ he said.

Dlamini said that ‘recognition of prior learning certificates’ were handed out as well. He said as they are committed to sustainability and responsibility to nature, patients and the general public, the scope of this training multi-dimensionally empowers individual practitioners in their professional approach to traditional healing methods.

The annual ceremony was also attended by graduates from previous years and dignitaries from diverse institutions to welcome the new practitioners and to render support.

‘I would like to encourage practitioners to come back to the institute after they have graduated so that they can polish their skills and learn new ways of doing things, especially the Western way,’ said Dlamini.
