South Africa’s city of Cape Town in the western cape was once a proud city. For a visitor locally or abroad it was particularly noticeable how clean the streets and parks were. Even the grass along the freeways were short and litter free. Buildings well maintained and one could walk around with ease taking in the breath taking views of table mountain and the ocean.

Political party changes compounded with gross mis-appropriation of funds has seen the city center decay to third world standards.

This inner city center park has a cliff as a back drop and ocean views in front of it. Squatters have moved in and now is rampant with crime and drug dealing.

How much further must the city decay before something is going to be done about it.
