This particular road is extremely busy during peak hour traffic. Over taking a slow car here is virtually impossible in many areas because of the road condition. Ride here at your own risk if you’re a motor cyclist.

There is plenty of money for a unnecessary world cup stadium in 2010. Alternatives to building a new stadium were sidelined in Cape town by those in power. South Africa cannot afford these kind of construction bills.

Our roads are in a state of disrepair The dedicated public transport lane on the N2 had CCTV cameras installed costing thousands of rands. The private motorist can expect a R500.00 fine in the post if they dare go into this lane, yet the remaining lanes will be manually monitored for taxi transgressions. I would like to see a traffic cop on the road that time of the morning attempting that.

Apparently private vehicles will not be tolerated on the dedicated taxi speed way, authorities might go as far as impounding your vehicle.

Where are the priorities. Patching the tarmac is the most common form of road repair seen nowadays.

If you are fortunate to own a 4×4 and wear your kidney belt to keep your system in relative comfort, holes in the road will be of minimal discomfort. Possibly these potholes are a new form of speed control and the public is just misinformed that they should be repaired properly. To hear there is insufficient funds to resurface the road is common practice yet its no problem to apply a patch ever so often. Recently I saw a patch re-applied in military Road just after the railway line three times in one week.
